Brown, interim CEO, have announced that John C. Asbury has been named president/ CEO, and William P. Sanders will continue as board chair- man. Asbury has over 27 years of experience in commercial and corporate banking. Most recently, he served as senior exec- utive vice president and head of the business services group at Regions Financial Corporation. In this role, he led all lines of business and commercial banking customers. Previously, he served 17 years at Bank of America, before leaving as the Pacific Northwest Region executive and senior vice president of business banking in Seattle, WA. Chartered in 1870, First National Bank of Santa Fe had $1.7 billion in assets as of December 31, 2014. First national Bank is the largest locally-chartered banking organization in NM operating as First National Rio Grande and First Na- tional Santa Fe; and in CO, operating as First National Den- ver. First National Bank operates 25 branches in NM and CO. n Ali Named BBVA Compass NM CEO BBVA Compass, Houston, TX, has appointed Kamal Ali its CEO for NM. Ali’s new role is part of the bank’s broader reorganization which was announced in November 2014 and combines BBVA Compass’ lines of business-retail, wealth management, and commercial-into one unit, the new consumer and com- mercial Bank. Ali joined BBVA Compass two decades ago after earning both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, AL. He most recently served as Al- buquerque city president. He has also served as a line-of- business manager for the commercial bank, a credit analyst, an assistant relationship manager, and a relationship manag- er all in either Albuquerque or in the bank’s headquarters in Birmingham, AL. Ali is currently a member of the Albuquerque Economic Fo- rum and is a board member for several local non-profit orga - nizations. n Southwest Capital Bank Taps Torrez in Albuquerque Southwest Capital Bank, Las Vegas, has hired Richard Tor- rez as an electronic banking coordinator to serve at the bank’s Albuquerque office at 1410 Central Ave. SW. Torrez will be responsible for processing ACH transactions and wire transfers from the Albuquerque region. He has sev- eral years of experience in banking and data processing. n Allbright Named VP/CLO Century Bank Albuquerque Elizabeth Allbright has joined Santa Fe-based Century Bank in Albuquerque as vice president and commercial lender on the commercial lending team. The veteran commercial lender most recently served with Bank of Albuquerque/The Private Bank. She earlier served with US Trust/Bank of America, Irwin Union Bank, Bank of the West, Wells Fargo Bank, and New Mexico Bank & Trust. Allbright holds an MBA degree in accounting from SMU and a BBA degree from TCU, and is a CPA. She is active in the community where she has served on several boards. n Austin Elected Vice President at Bank of Albuquerque Bank of America, N.A., has announced the pro- motion of Jessica Austin to vice president and commercial real estate relationship manager. Austin is a New Mexico native with more than 10 years of experience in business and commer- cial real estate banking. She began her career with Bank of Albuquerque as a credit analyst in the commer- cial real estate department in 2010. Prior to joining Bank of Albuquerque she served with Wells Fargo Bank. Austin holds a BBA degree in marketing and an MBA degree in finance from the University of NewMexico. She is a member of the board of directors for the CCIM New Mexico Chapter and CREW New Mexico, and is an active member of NAIOP. She was recognized by Real Estate Forum as a Young Pro- fessional Leader in the Southwest market. She is also a gradu- ate of Leadership Albuquerque and chair of the BAQ Employ- ee United Way Campaign. n Los Alamos National Bank Hires Gabaldon as Market President for Albuquerque Metro Los Alamos National Bank (LANB) has hired seasoned banker, Robert Gabaldon, as Market President for the Albuquerque metro. Gabaldon will oversee all aspects of the bank’s commer- cial lending, wealth management, and consumer banking in the greater Albuquerque and Rio Ran- cho area. Capitalizing on his over 20 years of ex- perience, Gabaldon will engage with new and existing clients and build relationships that will grow LANB’s position as a leading community bank in Albuquerque. Most recently, Gabaldon served as Vice President and Man- ager of US Bank’s Private Client Group for its New Mexico re- gion. Prior to his service at US Bank, he served as Senior Vice President and Private Banking Manager for BOK Financial’s Albuquerque market. A graduate of Albuquerque Academy, Gabaldon earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management. n
