The bank originally opened on March 1, 2000. Founding board members Frank Macaluso, Greg Anesi, Ed Armstrong, and Felix Briones, along with President and CEO, Sheila Mathews started FCCB after seeing a strong need for a local community bank. “Our hope was to become a resource for small business owners and individuals alike who wanted a more personal banking experience,” said Mathews. Their work quickly spurred two additional branches in the bank’s first five years. Another branch was built in Aztec, New Mexico in 2006. Four Corners Community Bank expanded into Cortez, Colorado in 2007 and acquired Citizens State Bank of Cortez in 2013. Today FCCB has $320 million in total assets with six locations in two states. “Our customers and our strong team are largely responsi- ble for our success,” said Mathews. “We pride ourselves on the personal attention given to each customer and our for- ward-thinking approach to lending.” Business banking and lending are cornerstones of FCCB. n Sunrise Bank Albuquerque Rebranding, New Location Albuquerque’s Sunrise Bank is transitioning to a new name, Bank of New Mexico, with a planned relocation from 219 Central Ave. in downtown to a building it recently purchased in Journal Center. Sunrise Bank, as an office of Bank of New Mexico, Grants, will move to a 6,340-square foot bank building at 7401 Jef- ferson NE, near the corner of Masthead, in May. The move and rebranding come in the wake of Sunrise’s acquisition by Grants State Bank in 2014. Sunrise President Steve Marcum will continue in his posi- tion at the new Albuquerque location.
