He will continue to work out of the bank’s Albuquerque of- fices. An executive vice president, Stanfield is a 35-year bank- ing veteran and longtime NM resident. During his tenure at the Bank of the West, Stanfield has served as division executive, overseeing retail banking strategy across sever- al states within the bank’s 19-state footprint including AZ, Southern CA, CO, OK, and NM. As head of retail banking, Stanfield is responsible for more than 500 branches. He is also responsible for the Pacific Rim Banking Division, which offers a full range of business, corporate, personal, and international banking services. Stanfield has served with Bank of the West for more than 15 years. Prior to joining the San Francisco, CA-based Bank of the West, he served as an executive officer for First Security Bank, where he managed commercial and corpo- rate banking. He holds a BBA degree in finance from Uni- versity of New Mexico. He served as President of the New Mexico Bankers Association in 2005-2006. FNB in Alamogordo Names Muell President First National Bank, Alamogordo, NM, Chairman James Lynch III announced the recent promotion of Steve Muell to president and director of First National Bank. Al- amogordo Muell joined First National Bank in 2010 and has pre- viously served as executive vice president and chief credit officer. He has over 35 years of banking experience and formerly served in senior management positions with Mo- have State Bank and Horizon Community Bank in Arizona and in California. Muell graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. He is active in the community as a member of the Rotary Club of Alamogordo, the Committee of 50, the Otero County Economic Development Council, and is chairman of the Children in Need of Services board of di- rectors in Alamogordo. Rainey Elected ICBA Chairman Congratulations to Rebecca Romero Rainey, CEO, Centinel Bank of Taos, on being elected 2016-2017 chairman of the In- dependent Community Bankers of America. Rainey is accustomed to leadership roles; she has served on a community banking panel advising President Barack Obama; on the advisory board to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City; advisory board to the FDIC; as president of the New Mexico Independent Bankers Association; and has chaired the ICBA Minority Bank Council. Centinel Bank cele- brated its 47th anniversary inMarch 2016. Phan Now Vice President, Bank of Albuquerque Man Phan has been promoted to vice president and branch sales manager in the mortgage department at Bank of Albuquerque in Albuquerque. Phan joined Bank of Albuquerque in 2004 as a mortgage banker. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Manage- ment. Saavedra Joins Southwest Capital Bank in Duke City Lorin Saavedra has joined Southwest Capital bank in Albuquerque as vice president of internal audit. She will oversee financial and operational procedures and provide evaluations on audit-related processes. Her background includes accounting, finance, human resources, and auditing with several non-banking firms in Albuquerque. Saavedra holds a bachelor of accountancy degree from New Mexico State University. DeVargas Joins Century in Santa Fe as VP/ Mortgage Century Bank in Santa Fe announced that Marita De- Vargas has recently joined as vice president and mortgage lender. DeVargas has served in the financial and real estate ser- vices industries for more than 25 years. She most recently served as vice president and mortgage loan originator at First National Santa Fe, where she served as eight years. She holds a New Mexico contractor’s license and is active with the Women’s Council of Realtors and the National As- sociation of Professional Women. Dobbs Is Market President, Bank 34 in Las Cruces Bank 34 has announced the appointment of Kenneth Dobbs as Las Cruces market president. Dobbs joined Bank 34 in February 2016 following a stint as vice presi- dent, principal business relationship manager with Wells Fargo. He has served in commercial banking since 1997. He has worked in both the Las Cruces and Albuquerque markets, most of those years within community banks, in- cluding Citizens Bank, First Federal Bank, and First State Bank. He holds a BBA degree from the University of New Mexico. Lucero Named Associate Members Committee Chair for NAHB The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) an- nounced that Diana A. Lucero, vice president construction lending for NM Bank & Trust in Albuquerque, has been named as the chair of NAHB’s Associate Members Com- mittee chair. The Associate Members Committee is the voice and advocate of NAHB’s associate members—the home building industry’s suppliers, service providers and product manufacturers.
