With more than 37 years of banking experience, including as a correspondent ag lender and relation- ship manager with Zions Bank in Logan, Utah, he spe- cialized in commercial, agribusiness and agricultural operations. Galloway has a B.S. degree in banking from the Uni- versity of Alabama, as well as a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Sanchez Joins First National 1870 Pat Sanchez has joined First National 1870 as se- nior vice president. Sanchez, a New Mexico banking leader with more than 40 years of experience, has joined as senior vice president. The bank continues to add top-level banking talent to its team. As cred- it development manager for First National 1870 in its Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Los Alamos markets, Sanchez has primary responsibility for credit review and approval of commercial lending services. He will also work closely with the bank’s local teams to build commercial and business banking relationships throughout New Mexico. Sanchez has a long history of involvement with numerous charitable and philan- thropic organizations. He is a current member of the city of Albuquerque’s Housing and Neighborhood Eco- nomic Development Committee and a board member of Ski New Mexico. InBank Adds Lois Romero to Executive Team InBank announced that it has added Lois Romero, a long-time bank officer, to its executive management team. In her new role, Romero will oversee the south- ern region for InBank from Raton, New Mexico, and serve on the bank’s executive leadership team. “We are thrilled to welcome Lois to the executive management team and look forward to utilizing her experience, knowledge, and her long-tenured re- lationships, specifically in the southern region, to further support our customers and associates,” says Ed Francis, CEO, InBank. “Lois has a deep history with our bank that will help us maintain the roots we have established in the communities we serve in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado.” Romero has over 30 years of experience in banking and finance and was instrumental in starting a de novo bank. She has been with InBank (previously Interna- tional Bank) on several occasions, most recently since 2013. She has held various positions, including cashier and senior vice president overseeing bank operations as well as mergers and acquisitions through the years. Romero has a background in accounting and graduated from the Western States School of Banking. Banker Elected to Chair of Bernalillo County Commission Lonnie Talbert, chief operating officer for South- west Capital Bank and President-elect for the NMBA, was recently elected to chair the Bernalillo County Commission. In an interview, Talbert said, “What matters to me is that people feel safe. What matters to me is that people have an opportunity and voice and that we bring people together to show others that we don’t need to be divided.” Congratulations to Lonnie! Ken Clayton Elected Chairman/CEO of Western Bank, Artesia The board of directors of Western Bank (Artesia, New Mexico) has announced the election of Kenneth W. Clayton as chairman/chief executive officer as of January 1, 2020. Clayton follows William M. Dampeer, who retired as the bank’s Chairman/CEO following nearly 40 years of service to Western Bank. Clayton has been a community banker for 31 years, including the past 21 years at Western Bank, having served as the bank’s President since 2003. A graduate of Karns City High School in Pennsyl- vania, Clayton attended the Western States School of Banking and as the Colorado Graduate School of Bank- ing. He has represented the banking industry of New Mexico as the 2014-2015 President of the New Mexico Bankers Association, as well as being a member of the American Bankers Association Community Bankers Council in Washington, D.C. n
